10 Lessons I Wish I Learned Earlier in my Career
1️⃣ It doesn’t matter how long it takes. The time is going to go by anyway. Stop thinking about it and just get started.
2️⃣ Remove some of the emotion from feedback and look at it as information and data to use going forward.
3️⃣ Perception is often more important than reality. Become very self aware and take note of the words and phrases you use as well as your non verbal communication.
4️⃣ The only way to find out if you can do something is to actually do it.
5️⃣ The hardest worker doesn’t always get recognized. The one who can communicate their value does.
6️⃣ You will learn more from failure than success. Fail forward and keep going.
7️⃣ You will experience some doubt and discomfort at each stage of growth and advancement. We all do and it’s temporary. Embrace it and keep moving forward.
8️⃣ Not everyone is going to like you and there will be times you are misunderstood. This can be hard and feel disappointing but try not to take it personally, spend too much time thinking about it or let it hold you back.
9️⃣ Know your value. If you don’t see your own value, you can’t expect anyone else to either. Learn how to confidently speak to your value, impact and accomplishments.
🔟 Get yourself in the right rooms with the right people who will motivate, inspire, and encourage you.
